Online shopping

I have just listened to an interview about online shopping. I thought you might be interested because almost everybody does online shopping from time to time. What is said is:
Delivery is a big problem and many retailers are not making money.
Most people enjoy going out to shop as it is an opportunity to get out of the house.
Some internet shops have gone bankrupt because of delivery problems.
A distinction has to be made between goods and services.
Examples of successful Internet retailers are budget airlines and online banking.
The real reason why shops go bust is that they are badly run or try to sell things no one wants.

supermarket tricks

I have just read an article about shopping in supermarkets and it talks about supermarket tricks. I thought you might be interested because most of us go shopping from time to time.

Basically what it says is:
A trolley makes you buy more because you need not carry your purchases but compfortably push them. Besides that there is more space in a trolley than in a shopping basket.
Lovely displays of flowers and plants are tempting.
Veggies and fruits are placed near the entrance, look colourful and natural, so you feel good entering the supermarket and you buy fruits even if they are not on your list.
Many goods are prepacked, so buying them is convenient.
Special offers convince you to buy goods you don't really need at the moment.
Freshly baked rolls smell good, so you often add them to your shopping.
